Swine Flu

So, I awoke yesterday with a sore throat. I was feeling weak and did not want to get up for work at all. I act like a baby when sick so I called my Mom. She told me to contact the hospital due to the rising attack of the swine flu. I rejected the advice, telling my Mom " But I havent ate any pig!" LOL...she started crackin up. Letting me know that is not how you get this certain flu. My bad...had a blonde moment.

You can prepare for and avoid swine flu. Practice good hygiene, buy a few supplies, and listen to the news. You should also be prepared by making a kit for yourself and family. This is serious ppl--> U.S. government officials declared a public health emergency due to the current swine flu outbreak.

Your emergency kit should include:

Water — one gallon per person, per day (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home)
Food — non-perishable, easy-to-prepare items (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home)
Flashlight
Battery-powered or hand-crank radio (NOAA Weather Radio, if possible)
Extra batteries
First aid kit

Medications (7-day supply) and medical items
Multi-purpose tool
Sanitation and personal hygiene items

Copies of personal documents (medication list and pertinent medical information, proof of address, deed/lease to home, passports, birth certificates, insurance policies)
Cell phone with chargers
Family and emergency contact information
Extra cash
Emergency blanket
Map(s) of the area

I hope this information helps you and your family prepare for any disaster that may arise. Its good to have these items because we live in earthquake region.
