Rapper Dolla shot, killed at L.A. mall

Dolla's publicist said the Atlanta rapper was fatally shot in the head Monday afternoon in the parking lot of the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old performer flew to California earlier in the day to work on his first album.

Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was gunned down while he and rapper D.J. Shabbazz waited in the valet area of the parking structure of the mall where the hip-hop artists had been shopping, Burton's publicist Sue Vannasing told the Times.
Police told the newspaper two suspects fled the scene and a "person of interest" was later detained as he attempted to board a flight out of Los Angeles International Airport.

This is the dude that sung " Who the F*ck is that!" SO sad...RIP

Fun Things to do This Weekend...

Sharing some ideas with you all for this weekend. Two days to pencil in whatever you want. My job is offering overtime this weekend so I may very well end up there but I may also do some outdoor activities. You know summer is right around the corner and getting in shape, does not mean that you have to be in the gym. Jogging/Running the lake (Lake Merritt) is nice on Saturdays, Seward Street Slides on Douglass St. & Seward St. in San Francisco is free and fun. I take the lil cuzzos to hurtle down these concrete chutes on half a side of a pizza box...you'll feel like a kid again.

Tonight I will be going to Dave & Busters with alot of my cuzzins. I will have pics...this will be sooooo much fun. Its banana's when we are all together.

So after you've had this joyous weekend and been back at work for two days you might need a mid-week pick me up. Well, on the THIRD Wednesdays of each MONTH you can have FREE ADMISSION to the Academy of Sciences located at 55 Music Concourse Drive, (Golden Gate Park) San Francisco, CA. So check it out on 5/20/09!!

Sunday Brunch @ Lime
On a Sunday morning, stepping into Lime is literally like stepping into the Sex and the City version of the hottest new gay night club: bottomless mimosas for 7 bucks, beautiful boys in Fendi shades carrying D&G purses and shaking it to techno remixes of Rihanna songs, purple strobe lights and even D-list celebrity sightings (spotted this week: Coral from the Real World mouthing "It's Britney, bitch," then subsequently slapping the tight little booty of a particularly petite member of her entourage).

Plus, the food is pretty good and actually decently priced. But by the time you get to the eating part, you'll be so drunk you'd eat a bag of Doritos and think it was quality brunch fare.
This may not be for everybody but I love mimosa's - so all I can drink for $7 is a mistake on them...lol

Sunday, May 17, 2009 - Bay To Breakers

Start Time: 8:00 am
USA Track & Field Certified 12K

Starting at the intersection of Howard & Main --->Follow JFK Dr through the Park until the Great Highway Turn left on Great Highway into the Finish Line

History: At 5:13am on April 18, 1906, a devastating earthquake rocked San Francisco. The subsequent fire and destruction were unimaginable, and many feared the City would be gone forever. The moral prevailed, and the Cross City Race - known better today as ING Bay to Breakers - was first run in 1912 as a precursor to the world-class athletic events planned for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. There were less than 200 participants that first year and Robert Jackson Vlught was the first person to ever cross the finish line, with a finishing time of 44:10.

Since then, Bay to Breakers has prevailed as a testament to San Francisco's uniqueness and audacity. Each year, the race is a glorious celebration of the human spirit - a giant wave of athleticism, fun, frivolity, and determination flowing across the City from the bay to the ocean. It is one of the largest footraces in the world with 65,000 + participants and 100,000 + spectators annually. As the race grew in size it even set a Guinness Book record, with 110,000 participants, in 1986. The course is challenging and beautiful, and consistently attracts top athletes in the sport. But it isn't just a race for the serious runner.
In the true spirit of San Francisco the race is a celebration for everyone. Thousands of costumed participants join with families, weekend runners and people just out for a stroll. As they make their way through the heart of San Francisco they are cheered by thousands of spectators and live music along the course. They also have to dodge the "spawning salmon" who each year make their way from the Finish line, through the masses, to the Start.

Throughout its long history Bay to Breakers has been a showplace for the City's irrepressible color and its affection for eclectic traditions. Although runners come from across the country and all points of the globe, the race is still quintessential San Francisco and a true reflection of life between the breakers and the Bay.

- I'll probably stroll through to lend support after attending church in San Leandro on Sunday. My cousin is preaching...

Some fun facts about the Bay to Breakers:
1940: The first female runner, Bobbie Burke, participates disguised as a man.

1974: At the age of 10 Maryetta Boitano became the youngest winner in the history of the race.
She also set the fastest women's finishing time at 43:22. She went on to win the Women's Division in 1975 and 1976.

1998: In 13th place, Jane Omoro secured the highest finishing position by a woman.

2007: As a result of the equalizer started the year before, Edna Kiplagat becomes the first female elite in Breakers history to cross the finish line ahead of the men.

After the race, you can party at the ING Footstock Festival - Bay to Breakers Party Sun, 9:30AM @ Golden Gate Park - Polo Field, FREE & open to the public

FUNNY FRIDAY!

Damn, Rick Ross can't win...lol

The XXL Editors received this letter from Louis Vuitton concerning the May 2009 cover of Rick Ross.
Dear Editor:
We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points. The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.
Sincerely,
Michael D. Pantalony,
Esq.Louis Vuitton Malletier
